John Deere 60 upper radiator dumping water

I got a John Deere 60 I replaced the radiator but now the upper radiator water pipe is leaking a pretty good amount of water, I have looked for a gasket but can’t find one, do I need a gasket or no.

Silicone rubber caluk usually works for me.

Had that problem with my Oliver S88 and used silicone gasket marker and it has not leaked since I did that

You can make a gasket, clean up both surfaces, glue a piece of gasket paper to the removed part, use a small ball peen hammer, and tap it out, use a little gasket maker to the top side, bolt it on and go.

Gasket A4431R is still available from Deere. Assuming you have a row crop. Standard and Orchard versions use a different gasket depending on serial number.

Got a cereal box in a kitchen cupboard? You've got gasket material.

Heck, depending on the size of that part, a cake mix box, hamburger helper box, pasta box... really any box.

There are lots of videos on youtube showing how to make your own gaskets with basic tools. It's really not difficult. If you cut out shapes from construction paper in kindergarten you can make your own gaskets.

Once your gasket is cut out, smear an ever so slight amount of grease on each side, and install. Don't have any petroleum grease? Use Vaseline, shortening, butter, bacon fat, beef tallow...

You could also make a quick trip to the auto parts store, get a roll of gasket material and a tube of permatex ultra black.

I'm curious as to where you may have "looked", as the A4431R gasket APPEARS to be still available through John Deere and there are literally unlimited sellers on the 'net that a GOOGLE search will bring up.

About $16, though, and as several others had said, very easy to make yourself.
