I posted this on the garden tractor board but am not really get any responses over there so here it is. I inherited and old John Deere 60 lawn tractor. Don"t know a thing about it. It is in good shape body wise, looks excellent, runs good too. But, it doesn"t move, put it in gear and nothing happens. Drive belt is on. Any guesses? I am not going to mow with this thing as I have a Kubota zero turn diesel. About when was it made and are they valuable?

I don't know much about JD 60s, so I don't have anything to tell you about it, other than make sure the keys are still in the axle for the wheel hubs. If someone before you got it took a wheel or hub off to fix a flat, or something, the axle keys can come out, and fall on the ground un-noticed. without them, the axle turns inside the hub/wheel, and it doesn't move. only takes 1 missing. Otherwise, it sounds like something is wrong inside the transmission. Probably have to take it apart to find out.
