I have run into trouble with the governor. I have a chipped bevel gear that mates with the fan drive pinion gear. I called myself rebuilding as per repair manual but failed in some fashion. Tractor ran and operated great. Tractor had a leak around governor housing so i decided to redo the gasket. When I disassembled I found the chipped gear. I was not chipped at rebuild. Now at the very inside of bevel gear i have 5 chipped teeth. I thought I shimmed to specs and meshed gears back nicely. Im now not sure how to keep this from happing again. I read the gears must be a matched set. Last pair was. This tractor is not making a living and I was wondering if I can just replace the bevel gear that is chipped? Any professional that can help me I would greatly appreciate the advice.
