John Deere 70 clutch gear

I am having problems putting the drive gear on the back of the clutch pulley, I have heated it up with torch and it will only go on about half way, it was very hard to get off also. Are they just that difficult or am I missing something. Thanks for your help. Doug

heavy duty impact and jaws to take off, Hydraulic press to put it on. JD did mine for free. Russ

Heat it up and then trying to be quick set it on and be fast with the press to finish it off.

Make sure you support the pulley in the center good or else it will bust.
