John Deere 70

Anybody know the max cubic inches you can build a 70 gas to? Is it basically the same as a G?

1005 is about as big as the G's will go. We have 10 inch billet cranks for the 70 and an 8 inch G block should fir in it. Put that under one of our custom made heads and manifolds with a cam with our grind on it and it will haul the mail. Here's my 10x7 3/4" 944 cu.G going 13 mph.

Can a G power block be bored more than 10 inches?

I’ve heard people say that there is more room for stroke on a 70? And also that the 70 transmission is much stronger than a G? Maybe it would be better to just build a G like everyone else?

The 70 will start out much heavier than the G. Transmission is real similar to the G. I think the bottom shaft is heavier which does go out in the G's. To change the cam out on a 70 you have to remove the crankshaft where as on a G you don't so G's are a little easier to work on. To get to where a G is you will be running mostly G parts anyways.
