John Deere 80.

Took some time tonight to finish putting the PTO back together on the 80. Last bit of old tractor work until the crop is in. Or until it rains.

That booger has got quite a stack of plates in there. Probably hard to get as much apply pressure with a mechanical mechanism as opposed to one hydraulically applied so it probably needs them. And that big ole oil burner two banger throws a lot of torque out when she lugs down and lights off a lung.

Hi used red MN. They are pretty strong when adjusted properly. There is a lot of mechanical pressure you can apply because of the long lever that is used. Looking forward to getting it on the dyno. Have a great week.

Replaced the PTO assembly in our 560 years ago and that thing was heavy. Strapped it onto a floor jack and wrangled it in there. I thought that was an Ertl pony in the background and then noticed the exhaust stack, air cleaner and lift handle and realized it was the real thing.
