john deere 830 1973 model

put new sleeves and pistons in my 3 cylinder 830 diesel runs very good but still smokes , i did the break in thing that was recommended, it seems that i'm getting raw oil out of the engine because it doesn't smoke until the exhaust heats up , i haven't really worked it hard yet , is this normal? thanks in advance ,

Depends on what the break in thing is.
Did you use Deere break in oil? If so it's
time to run it like you stole it. You're
going to have to work it hard to seat the
rings.
