John deere 8430

I have a friend that just bought a place that came with a 2009 JD 8430 with only 400hrs. It"s too big for him and wanting to know what a fair price for both parties. What I know about the tractor is : IVT tranny, 480-R50 rears, front weights , wheel weights, buddy seat. Tractor has the cylinders on the front end. I don"t know what that suspension is called. Tractor is outstanding!

You can go to tractorhouse.com or machinefinder.com and see what similar machines are listed for, or talk to a local deere dealer.

I can't imagine buying a place and a $150000 tractor just being with the farm. It had to have had a value figured into the price of the farm. Around here the junk Iron is sold at the auction and timber is sold or appraised. I'd just keep it, if I didn't know what I paid for it anyway.

The suspension is called ILS.To find a tractor like that with 400 hours the asking price would be around $200K+.I would be surprised if former owner didn't know value when selling the place.

Didn't they also make an 8430 back in the late 70's ? More likely one of those.

I sure can't keep up with all these models !

70's 8430 didn't have a IVT tranny,buddy seat,frt weights or cylinders on frt axle!

I can send photos to anyone's email address that would be interested. Tractor is in Mississippi. The hours are as described. It may sound fishy but it's true

This story is no stranger than a brand new 4960 setting in a fence row for 20 years.....with trees growing up around it. We can only imagine about other things like this that is still un-known...
Years ago Nick Dengler got a hold of a GP that had set unused since new, I saw it back in the 80's,,it was unused for sure..

Anything is possible. A family member (through marriage) bought a new 6000 series 2 yrs ago & it never leaves the shed, likely never will ;)

I know of a 60 3 miles from me that was bought new and a new 227 picker was put on it and is still on it in a shed where it hasn't moved for 40+ years and if the hour meter works it has 614 hours on it.

Finding and seeing these kind of things is fascinating to me Larry,,and we can only wonder about what is still out there...On a farm that we just started renting 5 years ago was a 237 picker that I put on for the old owner new, and it only picked 250 acres of corn, it was like new still..

Im not smart enough to get photos on this site. My email on my iphone is [email protected] send me a mail and i will reply with photos. Im going back to the poultry growers farm tomorrow to get serial #.

Hi
if that tractor was sitting at a place I brought and didn"t know what I paid for it, or it was not included in sale receipts. I would be calling Deere, or cops/ Maybe both , with serial number to see if it"s stolen before I got to excited about it.
Has been a few cases of tractors/ combines turning up in funny circumstances recently. Regards Robert

Anything is possible and at any price around $150K you can make a profit or have a nice low houred tractor. The higher end equiptment is not moving right now as dealer inventories are high.Sometimes there are hidden treasures on property but one of that size and value would be hard to forget.

Here's a couple of photo's Mitch emailed me.
