John Deere 88 backblade

Hi. Have an 8 foot John Deere 88 back blade that has a few teeth missing from abuse in a past life. Does anyone know if these Deere parts can still be had or do I just need to try a machine shop to refabricate the teeth portion of the frame. It's # 21 in the diagram. Only a few are missing but I figure they might need to remove them completely and then reweld in some new steel. Not sure. Any ideas? Thanks!

According to the JD parts catalog that frame (AC15707) was used on the 80A (1966-1972) and the 88 (1972-1980). It doesn't show as NLA in the online catalog. You can call your JD dealer and ask if it is still available. If it is, you might want to be sitting down when you get the price, I am guessing it won't be cheap.

I would take it to a machine shop and see if they can cut a new top plate out (or the teeth sections) and install it on the frame. I don't think a shop will want to try putting individual teeth on it.

Thanks Jim. I did call a couple dealers today and that frame is obsolete and none on the shelf anywhere at any dealers around the country according to their database. I'll pull it apart and see what a machine shop can do for me. Your idea sounds like the way to go. If it's going to cost more then the blade is worth, I may scrap it and just look for another 8 footer somewhere.
