So at the base of the clutch engaging handle there is a joint. Mine has an awful lot of play at that joint. Is there a bushing that can be gotten for there?

Most likely it will have to be bored out and sleeved. Possible to shim it with a copper pipe. Be careful removing the bolt that holds it to the casting. Do not hammer on it, push it with a puller tool. Ron MN

Yes, there is a bushing, A1197R. It should still be available from Deere.
Pay attention to what greenmech said....... don't hammer on the pivot pin!

You will need a new pivot bolt also. The old bolt will have wear. New bolt and bushing, can get here on yesterday tractor will tighten the clutch lever up. Be careful getting the old bolt out. Make a puller to press he bolt out.. Do not hammer on the bolt, you will break off the mounting tab.
