I'm just about done restoring my 1940 John Deere model A and the air stack is rotted out. I cut it off and prepped the casting for a new stack, but the new stack I got doesn't seem to fit right. As shown in the picture the bump for the steering wheel is moved up about 3/4 inches. Therefore when the top of the new stack is level with the exhaust stack, the steering wheel shaft will not go through the intake stacks bumpout. I got the part from stiener and they said they are all like that. So I guess I just need to cut the bottom of my brand new stack about 3/4 so that the steering wheel shaft will be able to go through. But then the stack will sit about 3/4 lower. Are there any other options? I would think they would have made the reproduction stacks the same as the origional
