John Deere A generator number

I am restoring a 1951 B and converting it to 12V and have a 12V generator (from an A) with an oval tag stamped "6 70 GD 1755". Can anyone identify it? Also, tell me where I can get the specifications for it?

Don't understand the first half. Deere list's it as Model No# 1101755.

12v - 16oz.brush tension - Field Current 1.6 at 12v - Cold Output 8-10 amps / 14.4 to 14.9 volts - 2200 RPM'S - Hot Output - 6-8 amps / 14.1 - 14.5 volts at 2400 RPM's. Set output on low charge position at 1-2 amps.

Info is from SM2000. With those rpm's listed Deere copied it straight from Delco. lol

Many rebuilders remove the factory tags and either stamp the case or even add their own tags.
So if you have one of those you will never know what it is ?

I appreciate your help, however, I'm new at this. What is "SM2000"? Is there a cross-reference chart or something to correlate my number with Model No. 1101755? Again, thanks!

SM 2000 is a John Deere service manual number. It list's all the generator numbers Deere used. I assumed (yes I know lol) a previous rebuilder retagged it and only used the last 4 digit's. The first 3 numbers are all the same on all the genny's Deere used. You can buy new Delco tags and stamp in all the numbers if you want to.

Your answer makes a lot of sense in that the rebuilder retained the last four digits. Now I need to find a compatible regulator. Thanks, I appreciate your help.
