Hi does anyone know if the unstyled AR is very sought after tractor (1946)Iam inquiring about it because I was going to tear into one (restore)it or go after a styled D elec. start well have a good day everyone.

It"s more sought after than an A or B, but not one of the "top picks", like a high crop, AO, LP, etc.

Varies by area, but restored (guessing) probably $3-4k, whereas an AO could bring upwards of $10k.

For some reason people go nuts over the BR, BO more than the A"s.

The D is one of my favorites. I'd go for that one...

Take this for what its worth but I believe if its a 1946 it would be a styled no un styled. I know for sure the last year for the unstlyed in the B was 1939 so I would figure it would be the same for the others also

Last week I payed for a D, now I have to wait on the weather so I can haul it in. Its parked in a building thats in a cow lot so theres mud mud and more mud in front of the building. I sure hope we get a good hard freeze for a few days. Its an unstyled by the way year is 1935

Sir, thanks for your input.Iam looking at an AR it is not fully restored the gas tank, hood,gas line has to be put back on he put 2,000 into parts in it from the rad. core back but has run out of time and money fr. tires are new back are OK.sheet metal is nice what is it worth southern MN, input is apreciated.

Tom, the AR's were unstyled thru '47 if remember correctly. The BR's were never styled and they were made through '47 and they ran together as far as styling. An AR is a good tractor to restore but will never comand top dollar like some of the others out there. Enjoy, Gordy

Tom, hard to set a "value" as is, moreso, I'd figure what it was worth if "restored", then start subtracting what it'll take you to get there. If you can buy it for less than that, and your time isn't worth anything to you (it's your hobby, it's supposed to be fun time, so as long as you enjoy it, it's free, or mostly free), then that's what it's "worth". You don't want to put $8k into a $4k tractor...

I'd check out some "criticals"...

1. What shape is the hood in?
2. THe fenders liked to get beat up, torn, rusted, dented, etc. Especially down low and in front.
3. Make sure the rear rims are good. Rear rims/tires can cost you $500-$2000 (depends on what you get) - Round Spokes, Flat spokes or some AC wheels.
4. Engine running?

Does not run and has not run in probably 30 years. Engine is locked up, tires are bad and or gone, steering is locked up as are most of the levers on the tractor. But other then the tires and the muffler its complete. I payed less then $500 for it as it sits but will not say the exact amount I payed
