John Deere A tire

If using implements on the 3 point hitch, your implement may get too close to the tires. Had that problem with a finish mower on a 60 with 18.4 x 38. 16.9 x 38 cured that problem.

Well if you happen to have the rims finding used 18.4.38s is easier than finding 13.9x38s. When you drive it your arms and legs might get a little tired from pushing yourself back in the seat while you are driving. You would get a little more speed on the road though. Hook your toe under the governor arm and you might get her up 20 mph.

Dads first tractor was a 47 ANH with 42 inch rear rubber. The single front wheel was tall so the tractor did sit level. It was the only new A he could find after the war so he bought it out of desperation. I dont know why a dealer in northwest Iowa even had it on the lot. He used it for a few years but it was too tall. The drawbar was too far off the ground. It pulled up on the plow and the mounted cultivator pulled up on the shanks.

Find some clamp on dual rims with newer radial tires with at least 40% tread for about $600 total. The radials will need only 8# of air and sit low with soft ride.

I purchased a JD 520...purchased with 12 X 38 rears......

Soil and requirements I use tractor for was totally improved by installing 18.4 X 30's....Tires are loaded

30" ...Something to consider...
