Is there a gear that I can buy to slow down a John Deere A? I need to slow down 1st gear. Thanks

Sounds like you may have an "Unstyled A"..???

1st gear just IS Fast...NO "Creeper" gear...like the Late Styled ones have..

Someone on here maybe can tell you if another 1st reduction gear-set can slow it down..but that will slow the speed in all the gears...

It is a styled A that I think is a 48(no tag)

Unfortunatly the "A" didn't get slower gears till the 1950 year when Deere went to the single shift lever. You probably would find it easier to get a later "A" than all the trouble of trying to find a gear set that will slow down your tractor. Not to many of them were made to start with and to try to find one in a scrap yard will be difficult. Good Luck
