I need to slow down first gear in a John deere A any advice? Thanks

It depends on the year of the A. If it's before a 1950 model, you can take the clutch and reduction gear (need both) from a 1950 - 1952 model A and install on yours. This will make 1st slower as I did this on a 1935 A.

It is before a 50 and that would be great, where is the best place to get the set?
