John Deere B rebuild

I have a 1945 John Deere b. Tractor was ran without oil pressure and it needs a complete rebuild. I completely disassembled engine yesterday.
I am wondering what would be best for rebuilding. Valve job? How much can head be shaved safely? What to do with block boar, shave bottom side? Cam shaft regrind? What’s best for hi comp gas pistons? I’d like 30-35 hp when done.
Cost is not a concern
Any advice is appreciated thank you!

Cam regrind for sure will help. Don't shave the back sides block, don't know how you would do that anyway. Can take some off the front but not much to make a difference. Send us you distributor and carb and you will get a hp boost out of that. They can be bored depending on if it is bored already how far you can go. Over sized aluminum pistons with high compression domes will help. All this will make a dependable farm tractor. If you want more it just costs more. Stroked crank, new rods, port the head, manifold, bump up the timing. For sure have a valve job and probably have it ported at that time. Shaving the head will give a compression boost. To high of compression and you will need higher octane gas to make it run to it's potential.

Any suggestions for where to have cam work done? No machine shops around me (Western NY) that I’ve found seem to have any experience with them. The block is stock 4.500 now. I see aluminum pistons advertised at 6.3 CR don’t know if it’s true. When the machine shop is done I’ll be getting those. How far can you shave head safely? Thank you for responding!
