john deere Br paint colours

have a 1940 john deere BR , I am wondering if someone can tell me what parts to paint what colors to be correct .also need paint codes thanks in advance.

Sheet metal and frame should be Classic green,wheels should be yellow and generator and starter black. Sorry I don't know paint codes. Tx Jim

In 1940 the starter and gen. should be green also. It wasn't until the 1950's that the gen was black, and by then the starter was hidden under the tractor.

There's 4 PPG green paint codes for JD. I would look at the paint chips to see which one you like best. There's lots of paint codes for yellow too. Hal
