John Deere Hit Miss

A Neighbor has a John Deere 1 1/2 hp hit & miss engine. he saw my old tractors and asked me if I knew anything about his engine I told him no but would try and find out for him. Basically he needs to know how to time it and how to set the magneto. any help would be great.

Also ask in the stationary engine forum father dowm the screen.Should get some help there . I have one but don,t rember like I should. Nice engines,easy to start when set right....
