John Deere L Engine Rotation direction

What is the Correct Rotation for a John Deere L engine. It is not the Hercules Engine. Is the Rotation Clockwise or Counterclockwise? Is this from the front of the engine or the rear of the engine? Thanks Just wanting to verify the valve timing before I put it back together. I did line the dot on the cam with the dot on the crank. Thank You I am working on this for a friend, so I did not run the tractor before the engine work.

Virtually all common/non exotic engines turn CW when looking at the engine from the "front" and this is no exception.

Clockwise from the front.
The Magneto turns the opposite direction than most JD engines.
