john deere la rim

im working on restoring a 41 hollow frame la and am having a hard time finding rear rims. does anyone know of a good source for any new or used in good condition? im located in eastern ohio. thank you for any help. its starting to get frustrating.

Are you sure it is an LA not L? I thought all LA's had solid frames, but I have been wrong before. Rims for LA and L are different sizes. My LA has 24" and all L's that I've seen have 22" unless they were converted.

some la's had hollow frame because of wartime metal shortages. the walls are thicker than an l.the frame weighed about 100lbs. less than a solid frame. la rims have the loops to change spacing and are bigger than an l's

La's had solid frames and some had a real thick wall frame with a small hole up the center. I never knew this for many years until one fellow showed me his and it even had a serial tag on it !

L's just had what looked like standard oil field pipe.

Have you tried Miller Tire out of Wauseon Oh ?
They may have a blank 24" rim you can weld the mounts to.

Try Dwayne in Loganton Pa. Phone 570-725-3130. Nice guy to deal with, he had rims for sale a couple of weeks ago. Look in the back classified.

I got my new rim for my 60 out of an advertisement in Green Magazine. I think it was Wilson Farms I ordered from. Great transaction, quality rim.....very pleased. I'm sure they'll have yours too.
