John Deere LA Tractor front axle assembly

Have a John Deere LA with a welded front axle at about midpoint. JD L axles seem to be much more available than LA axles. What is the difference in the L and LA front axles? Are they interchangeable? I appreciate any info on this matter.
Thanks,

The spindle size between an L and a LA is different. My guess was to make up for the increased weight of the LA engine over the L. I am not positive but I also think that the L spindles might be shorter to match the smaller rear tire size of the L. I am not positive on that though.

Have you tried Rusty Acres Ranch for your needs? They used to have a lot of used L and LA parts available.
