i have a john deere m that i just got today it needs a steering wheel what the best way to get it off pulling or heating or what

on my 48 "M", i used a 3 jaw gear puller after soaking with penatrating oil and used a propain hand torch with the puller at what i felt was max. pressure. dont remove shaft nut all the way, just loosen so if it "pops off", it wont go flytng. don't loose woodruf key under wheel. good luck, d. coleman

Spray it up with penetrating oil and you should be able to get it off with a puller.
