John Deere M throttle spring

The parts manual I have shows the same spring for the throttle (below, #14) as the governor (far below, #1). I am missing the throttle spring, and the M I could look at had a different spring at each location. I think the manual has the wrong description for the throttle spring - ?

Anyway, I am looking for the throttle spring, or, better yet, a good description of the throttle spring so I can source something similar. Please forward suggestions and descriptions.

Thanks!

Is it possible that the MI you looked at had the throttle spring replaced with whatever somebody had on hand somewhere along the line? Would the L4197T work? That spring has a 60 lb/in spring rate and a 2 3/4" free length. If you don't want to go to Deere, this spring has about the same specs.

Edit: Wouldn't let me add the link, but Grainger part number 1NAR6

The MI I looked at was at the Larsen Tractor Test and Power Museum in Lincoln, NE. Everything looks original. I took a picture because I didn't think pulling the hood off would be acceptable museum behavior... Below is a zoomed in look at the throttle spring.

For the throttle at idle, the spring would be stretched out to over 4 inches, or ~80 lbs of force given the specifications of the L4197T Deere lists. That seems high to me. My thought is the spring is holding everything in place and clamping the washers against the linkage to keep everything tight. I'll have to go back and take a closer look.
