John Deere MOCO Problems

Sorry for posting this again but am looking for information on any john deere MOCO good or bad. I am looking at buying a 930 discbine but was wanting to know anything about John Deere disc bines in general that will help. Are parts easy to get? I hear a lot of people saying they dont cut real well in thick and wet grass, is that true? I only run 5 mph or so mowing anyways. Please anything helps, i just dont want to buy it and then figure out after about 5 minutes it wont work. I will be pulling it with a International 1086. The guy wants $4500 for the mower.

P.S. Thanks to the guy that responded before!

What are you cutting? What kind of conditioner? Rolls or impeller?

Machines without reels do not cut down crop as well as those that do, in my opinion.

Disk machines do not plug at the cutterbar.

JD has the shear hubs that protect the cutterbar gear train. No one else has the feature that I know. Saves $$ big time!

I cut mostly grass hay(orchard grass, fescue, and brome some clover mixed in). It is a roller conditioner.

I have a 946 mo/co that works very well. I have been very happy with it. It has impellers and even in alfalfa it can be set to be very gentle and does not plug. It can also be set to condition the toughest grass and does a good job of cutting. It's ALL in the adjusting of it. They hardly sell a roller machine around here anymore. Mike

I personally like them. I used to work at a deere dealer. It was rare that they came in to be worked on. Not saying they don't have problems just not a lot of major ones. That being said maintenance always helps. Parts are still easy to get if you have a good dealer.
