John Deere Model A plain differential cover

Ok I give up,, Somebody tell me where I can buy a cover for the rear end of my 1945 John Deere Model A so I can remove the power lift and the power take off? I cant get enough weight off the tractor to pull the 4500# class and would truly love to get it to the 4000 but i may jsut be dreaming. It weighs in at 4575# with absolutelly minimal fuel and no brackets on it.. If anyone has suggestions where I can find one or ideas how to remove weight LET ME KNOW PLEASE.

In the "old" view of this web-page is a a box at the top (above the posts)that says "search for"

Type in quotation marks ("") a phrase; for example "lose weight" or "rear end cover" and click the word "Go"

There are a multitude of previous posts from years ago on various topics. Try being resourceful with your time and research previous posts and see what you learn. There are folks that have posted information for different vendors and builders that build rear end covers for your application. Their information is in the previous posts from years past.

Search the classified or photo ads of this website the same way.

Try searching Ebay they often have a rear end cover listed.

Good Luck,

Sorry for the thread jack but since you're talking flatbacks......did they make them for the later "A"s with the battery box seat?
