john deere model identification

Can someone tell me if there is a good website that will explain the differences between early models of grain drills? i have looked all over this thing for a model number or somekind of identifaction and can find nothing. i have looked at pictures on here and can find different drills labeled as the same thing. Just interested in trying to narrow this down. Sorry no pictures.

Go to the implement photos section in the left column and enter JD grain drill or John Deere grain drill several will come up to possibly help. Pics of yours would sure help a lot though. Most JD grain drills had a tag on one end of the grain box but they can get knocked off or rivets fall out. Galvanized seed box ? Green painted seed box ? Disk openers ? Hoe openers ? Dual boxes for seed & fertilizer ?

Mine just was painted on both box and frame and NO tag.
