John Deere thrashing machine

I have my grandfather's John Deere thrashing machine. I think it was built in the late 1940's. It's painted the traditional green and yellow, but the only serial tag that I found on it says it was manufactured by the Hart Carter Company of Peoria, Illinois. The serial number is H51865. I would like any kind of information on this unit such as how many were built for JD, for how many years, what year is the one I have? Also would like to know if there is someone or someplace that repairs the flat belt pulleys that are used on this unit? I think I read or heard that John Deere purchased the Hart Carter Company' just curious if anyone has more information on this? I also thought it was unique as far as the fact that it has round spoke rims with rubber mounted tires as most thrashing machines are on steel wheels. Any information, literatures, or knowledge shared would be greatly appreciated.

Hart-Carter made components for threshers, such as feeders, weighers, cleaners, etc., but I don't know if they would have ever built a complete machine for DEERE, so you may be looking at an I.D. tag of a component built by H-C.

OR, others may know otherwise!

You can peruse the DEERE parts catalog at the link below and be if any of it applies to your machine.

I've never seen a JD Threshing Machine with yellow wheels. Are they original. Could you send pics. Thanks Gerald

I was not aware that Deere made any threshing machines, I have never seen one.

Deere did actually buy a threshing machine manufacturer.

There's two of them at the thresheree I help at. One is a green & yellow job & the other is an earlier galvanized machine with yellow & green paint. I'll dig up some pics this evening.

Gerald, I didn't recollect correctly the thresher doesn't have spoke rims it's actually more of a spoke type hub that the rim is fastened to. Here's a picture of it so now you can take a look at it. My father said that these were the original rims that came on it when my grandfather purchased it.

Thanks for the Pic. I have never seen one with those type of wheels. It is a later model with a steel tongue.
