John Deere Tool?

I recently picked this cast iron part up. Has a JD sticker on one side, and US Pat #'s on the other side cast in. The Pat #'s are 3412587 and 3230761. Any idea what this is and what it was used for?

Rivet tool for mower sections.

It appears to be a rivet tool.

It pushes the old rivits out and rivits the new sickel sections back in. Its a very good tool because you can replace a sickel section out in the field with it without having to remove the sickel from your combine or mower etc.=======Harold

"Rivetool"
Seems like they had some fancy way of spelling it, I can't remember how.
If you use it, screw down the opposite end snug, because otherwise you can snap it right in two!
