John Deere Unstyled A

I'm trying to restore an early unstyled JD A. However, the transmission gears weren't in the tractor when I bought the maincase. I have all of the gears and 2 shafts below the shifting forks but need a picture of how the gears are placed on the shafts. Can anyone send me a picture of theirs either inside the transmission case or how the gears are assembled on the shafts?

Thanks.

If you can look at how the 4speed B's were arranged that should show how the A is. I did one years ago and have to relook it as I have a spacer that I think was replaced but not sure if the one I have is leftover or the missing one. The JD manual for the B shows trans layout.

Maybe this one?

Sorry it took me so long to get it posted. I put a Behlin Road Gear in this tractor for tractor drives. And I must admit, it's a blast. Not as fast as my 36 A with a Behlin (those red H's and M's can't keep up) but I do like the gearing spread better on the 38. Good Luck Dave

Yeah, putting a Behlin road gear in one of my tractors is something I haven't tried yet but would like to one day. Thanks again for sending the pic, it's very helpful.
