Jubilee hydraulic conversion

I recently purchased an early Jubilee (late 52 according to the serial number) and have a Ford Front blade that bolts right up. It has a single acting cylinder (could be made into a double acting).I need to convert the hydralics and add a control valve. I have an open center 3 spool valve. My problem is I think you have to plug one of the holes under the small cover plate, which one? I have tapped the top for 1/4" fitting. I assume if I want to use a double acting cylinder I would need a 4 spool valve and add a hose? Does any one have an original coversion plate and valve that bolts on in place of existing cover plate?

The NAA valves are very hard to come by. however.. if you have already tappe dthe cover you have at the oil port.. just chain your upper lift arms down to the axle, and them pull the lift handle up.. oil will be forced out your port.. thru a hose to your open center valve... add another hose as a return line and tap a fitting into the hyd fill cap, and put your return line to that.

Any time the 3pt lift handle is up, oil circulates thru the open center valve.. when you actuate your valve.. it will run whatever remote cyls you have attached.. etc.

You loose the use of your 3pt during this operation due to chaining it down.

Another option is to find a large SA cyl and fill it with oil and mount it between the 3pt drawbar and toplink and plumb it directly to your lift cyl on the plow... lifting the 3pt compresses the cyl on the rear, and thus lifts the cyl on the front... makes for a neat limited closed circuit hyd system.

I have the front mounted blade your talking about. I love it and had it for about 20 years and put it under severe conditions. Plowed plenty of snow and pushed many acres of invasive brush into brush piles. It's bullet proof! Just had to weld it once and that was where the pivot pin block was welded to the lower mounnt tubing. Just welded a strap around the cracked weld area and no prob since. That single cyl actuator will pick the front wheels off the ground with no problem. I used the double spool Ford remote valve but needed only two ports.

Now, why speaking about remote valves and such. I have another well used 860, still strong, that I recently installed a complete power steering set-up on. Got that off this site from Arthurstractors.com, way back in central Pa. I also found a pretty good one armed loader (722 model)in mid Wis.,and mounted it. My main goal is to mount a grapple on the front instead of the bucket. I did need one extra port for that grapple/cat claw to run the top claw. I ended up getting a HV4902 plate kit (they call it),by TISCO and sandwiched it under the remote valve. It's about 1" thick aluminum with 3/8th ports, one pressure and one return. NH dealer got it for me. It comes with O rings and longer bolts (that was not ment for the remote on top but for the old cover plate).

I have that grapple on order, for you guys that have elbow and sholder problems. This grapple is kind of like a rake with 6inch spaced tongs. The top claw comes down inbetween the lower tongs, so you only have a 3 inch space at the bottom. Hey, you can pick up leaves or cordwood or rocks, you name it. It is built in Wa., state by ANBO. I ordered a 5' model. Hope to get it in a few weeks. Just tossed the grapple info in here for the old guys like me that are starting to hurt but still have the fire in the belly to get some work done.
