Jubilee hydraulic problem

I have recently purchased a Ford Jubilee and the 3-point hitch does not raise when the lever is pulled up. It has plenty of hydraulic oil. It has been below zero temps if that matters. Any ideas on where to start trouble shooting? Thanks.

I could have lost prime to the pump located on the right rear of the engine. I've never owned a tractor with a vane pump (NAA,Jube)so I can't tell you how to bleed one. Generally it is a simple procedure - loosen a small pipe plug on the side of the pump and crank it till you get a clear flow of oil and no bubbles. Then retighten.
Generally I will pull the coil wire and do it off the starter. Have done it with the engine idling too but made more mess. If you don't have at least an I&T FO-19 manual for your tractor you should get one. I'm sure it would explain how to bleed a vane pump.
PS A lot of NAAs have had the hyd pump changed out to the newer piston style pump like on the 600/800 etc. Those do have a bleed plug on the side of it.
Good luck

Another option. I found some clear tubing at NAPA . I can't remember what size but it fit the pump bleed hole tight enough to allow me to thread it in real nicet. Next I ran the other end of the hose to to the hydraulic fill hole and started the tractor. When it runsclear the system was bled. No mess!

I just picked up a Jubilee also. What is the proper transmission/hydraulic oil. Can I use 134 or do I need 90 wt. or 8N Mineral oil?
Thanks for any help.

Use 134 oil.
Another thing you two might consider is whether the oil pickup tube in the rear end isn't plugged up with crud and or you have water/ice in the rear end.
