Jubilee hydraulics again

I can’t seem to get everything going well with my golden jubilee hydraulics. Fixed initial problems by adjusting linkages and replacing unloading valve o ring. Plowed a garden and everything Seemed to work fine except draft control wasn’t quite right.

Then after some post holes it quit lifting after several post holes. Symptoms pointed to a faulty relief valve according to repair manual. I thought this was confirmed when i took apart the relief valve and one of the springs was broken.

Installed new relief valve today as well as adjusted linkages again. Everything seemed to work fine. Lifted plow in implement and draft control. Hydraulics kept plow lifted all the way up with no problem, including no “bobbing”. Needed to plow some additional ground so got started. Right away experienced two problems: (1) hydraulics started lifting very slowly then after plowing second furrow does not lift at all, (2) tractor doesn’t seem to want to pull the plow very well even when not deep. Symptom (1) is exactly the same as before replacing relief valve.

Any help would be much appreciated. I am about at my wits end with these hydraulic problems. I have work I need to do with the tractor and money I need to quit spending!

That could be. Although after taking another look at things I have another wrinkle to throw in the equation. Previously before replacing the relief valve I also had a small stream of fluid coming from area where back pressure valve sleeve seats against lift cylinder housing. The o ring had a slight Defect so I ordered a new one from new Holland. It was slightly different in that there was no outer “rib” but the thickness and diameter was good and it was a snug fit. Well now I get a steady stream of fluid out of this area when raising the quadrant control. This has to to be my problem but I can’t source an o ring that’s an exact match of the original with the outer rib.

ctually, when lifting, the unloader valve blocks flow to the back pressure valve, so, there should be nothing there under pressure to "stream".

Was able to get a better look at things by looking through the fill port. “Stream” of fluid I mentioned is not coming out from back pressure valve o-ring, and wouldn’t anyway as you mentioned JMOR. Turns out fluid coming from out of pressure port on top of casting directly above pressure tube due to bad seal between casting and cover plate. One of the bolts adjacent to pressure port was not tight. Tried to tighten and it’s stripped out, not the bolt but the female side.

To complicate matters, I made a total rookie mistake (that would be the kind way of putting it). I got the bright idea that with cover plate off I would thread the bolt into the hole to try and see if I could thread it all the way through (what this would accomplish I cannot say). Well the instant I accidentally went past the last thread on the bolt I hear a cracking noise and a hairline crack is now on the center housing casting right around he bolt hole.

So now a problem of my own making that I don’t know how to fix. I hope at least that someone reading this gets a good laugh at my error(s), that would perhaps make me feel better

o laughs, but there are various inserts that can be used by drilling to insert size and the insert will then accept the bolt, assuming there is enough material around the hole.
