The PTO shifter was stuck, so I did one more split to remove and clean it. The little ball was rusted to the shuttle keeping it from moving. While in there we may as well replace the oil seals.

Got the block, head, crankshaft and flywheel back from the machine shop. My son came over and helped this weekend and we got most of the engine reassembled.

Well, well!
I had a two-tone Metropolitan in the mid 70's and delivered the rural mail in it -- not a convertible though. That's where my respect for Austin 1500 engines began.

Glad you're enjoying your mega project. All I'm doing tomorrow tractor-wise is painting my front Jube rims to match the new Ford Grey rears.

Don't you wish you had this hood ornament that i saw on a Metropolitan in Friday Harbor! :shock:
