Jubilee three point hydraulics

My three point would not lift with weight on so I changed the hydraulic safety valve. Then it would not even go up with no weight, so I changed it back to the old one and I am back where I started. It is not leaking out of the cylinder. The pump is pumping with the lift cover off, it pumps oil out the pipe that comes up the side of the case to the lift cover. So the question is do I need to buy a pump repair kit? How to make sure that's what I need? The one I need for the vane pump is $390 so I want to make sure this will fix my problem. Thanks Mark

Buy or borrow a hydraulic pressure gauge and MEASURE the pump output pressure. You should be seeing a minimum of 1600 PSI. I'll also add that the $390 rebuild kit is not guaranteed to fix a worn out vane pump. All it contains is a new rotor and vanes.

in the hydraulic cavity next to the base of the hydraulic pipe going up to the top cover. That is the system over pressure safety valve which limits pump pressure to the cylinder. The one on the cylinder is a higher pressure valve used to protect against pressure spikes caused by the bouncing of a raised implement when transporting it over rough terrain.

To do a pump pressure test you need to isolate the pump by blocking off the pressure tube where it comes up out of the center section. A piece of steel plate bolted bolted over the opening will suffice but expect a bit of a leaky mess. You will be dead heading the pump against the pressure relief valve so only run it long enough to get a number.

Ok. I can do that. I did it with out blocking it to make sure it was pumping and it mad a bit of a mess.

My Jubilee has been sitting for a few days. I needed to move a couple of implements. Hooked to my York rake ( its heavy )and it picked it up first try. Then I had to move my 5 foot Howse rotary cutter it picked it up easy. So what is going on? A confused Mark
