Multimeter shows 6.38 volts at the battery. Drops to 5.8 while cranking. Weak spark at the points. No spark at the plugs. + post on the coil shows open loop while cranking. Not sure if it is suppose to do that. Once again jumped starter with 12 volt jump box and fired right up.

when you crank it the points will open and close therefore you have an open circuit for a second. my jubilee is aslo 6 volt. probably will convert it to 12 volts soon if I don't sell it. real nice tractor. just cost about 60 bucks plus battery to do it. everything really has to be fine tuned on 6 volt systems for it to work properly. email open norm in missouri

Hi Terry, I went back and re-read your first post. You know from what you are saying it sounds like it could be a bad starter, but you said you had it rebuilt. So the next item to eliminate, would be the battery cables. How old are they? Have you tried cleaning both ends of both cables? You are loosing voltage while cranking. I would think it's either battery connections, battery cables or the starter is drawing too much current. Are the battery cables the OEM fat ones (0 gauge) or did someone replace them with the smaller cables used on 12 volt systems?
