Jubilee valve adjustment

Over the last 10 years I've owned a 9N and (4) 8Ns. I recently bought a well-used Jubilee.

A compression check showed fairly good compression in cylinders 1, 2, and 3. Cylinder 4 showed about 30 psi. I checked the gap between the valves and rocker arms with the piston at TDC and found no gap.

After adjusting the gap to .015 I got 100 psi in the cylinder. I just wanted to pass this along to those who may be having a similar compression problem. YMMV.

Good for you! You are very fortunate to get that amount of compression because usually some valve burning takes place when they are not closing all the way.

It's obvious the PO used a lot of "trial and error" methods. I don't think he was able to get it running to burn the valves.
