Hello. Im noticing a decent amount of smoke coming out of
valve cover breather when engine is under a load shredding.
Weve owned this tractor since the 70s I believe. Not
overheating, getting water in the oil, or losing coolant. Seems to
run fine. Bad rings? I havent checked compression.

I would check the compression, both dry and wet.
It could be just getting tired but may not be too bad to use.
