Just a Quickie

On my 1952 Tea20. What size tire, and rim would come originally on the front? There are Firestones on the back. Doubt they are the original ones, but would the front be Firestones as well?

According to the latest Ferguson Furrows the TO 20 and TO 30 only had Goodyears installed as part of another "handshake" agreement between Harry and the big shot of Goodyear at that time. I do not know if that includes the TE and TEA tractors also, I would think they used what the UK had. According to the parts book they came with 4:00 X 19 or 6:00 X 16 tires on the TEA. I am guessing the 6:00 X 16 were optional. Hope this helps some.

From the factory they would not mix tyres from different manufacturers. So if it had Firestone from new on the back it would have had Firestone fitted on the front on production. It could have had alternative tyre sizes, but not different manufacturers.....John

I should also have said that the tyre size was most likely 600 x 16 4 ply as that was favoured for the USA rather than the narrower 400 x 19. Probably something to do with that fact that it looks more "tough" with the bigger tyres apart from practicallity.....John
