I have a old tiller no stickers on it so I do not know what model it is. It has a Kohler engin K161T. What oil weight goes in the engin? How about the gear box?

For the engine it probably doesn't matter all that much. I've been using Mobil 1 15w50 in my Cub Cadet 70 during the summer because it smokes less. In the winter I use Mobil 1 5w40 because it starts easier.

I only use Mobil 1 in small equipment now (after break in), it gunks up a lot less and runs better. Spendy but how much oil are we really talking about?

I would use 30 HD in the engine and 85-140 gear oil in the gear box.
