Karcher pressure washers

What is the consensus of Karcher pressure washers, specifically those with gas engines. Honda engines were popular on them years ago but now I see that Karcher is using their own engines. Are they quality, a price point engine, or something else? My search is on for a upcoming birthday present.

bought a used Karcher with Honda 5 hp engine off Craigslist for $50 maybe 15-20 years ago. Had to replace the pump a few times at about $75 each because the unloader valve would get stuck (probably from non-use) but was satisfied with what I had. This was homeowner grade. Probably sold by Home Depot or similar.

I just about guarantee Karcher didn't start building engines !!!!!Remember,no matter who you buy it from,it's YOUR engine

I bought a Karacher from Costco years ago. Before they started using Honda engines, mine is Briggs and Straton engine. I had trouble with the unloading valve sticking after having it a couple years and replaced the pump and haven't had any more problems. Old ones seemed to be known for valve sticking and no way to fix it other than new pump

Ive got one, dont remember which model it is, about a 7 hp engine. Engine is a Longcin Honda clone, same as many clones. The differing models have different style pumps. I chose one that has an inline pump.

Only complaint I have is the extra nozzles vibrate out of their holder. Pretty trivial issue.

Don't have any info on your question, but i bought a Simpson with Honda engine about 7 years ago never had any troubles starts 1 or 2 pulls every year i also keep in a heated area in winter for fear of freezing

Do you guys having pump issues use some form of pump protectant to lube and give antifreeze protection to your pressure washer pumps when not being used for a while or over winter?

LOTS of other brands of the stuff on the market, as well.

I bought one new many years ago. Gas powered. Paid a lot for it. Warranty service was sketchy - lawnmower shop in a bad neighborhood. They never could fix it right. Ended up junking it. Have had great luck with my two water driver models with Honda motors. 25 years of service and no repairs. Dont buy the Karcher. Youll regret it.
