KAT tratctor heater

Since it is going to be in the negative temps this weekend -20 and colder, decided to plug in the tractors. The big diesel has a block heater, but the smaller MF135 has one of those hose heaters, Just wondering if the hose heater has a thermostat built in to keep from overheating. I am thinking they do.
Got the #1 diesel in the big tractor, but not run through the system, so don't think that is going to start for me until we get near 30 next week.
The snow blower is on the small tractor, so will still be able to clear the snow we get this weekend.

I don't understand this nonsense about number 1 and 2 fuel. I have run all over the country from Florida to Washington state in the wintertime ,and never had a problem with fuel freezing, if I bought fuel in the climate I'm in.
Another words if I bought fuel in FL and shut it down in ND yes it might be a problem. As long as I bought fuel in WI or SD on the way I was always fine. I have even shut it off for the night in Montpelier ID at -28 in the morning and had it start with no problems. I don't advocate those things but have done it.
I don't think the hose heaters have a thermostat in them or at least ours don't appear to.

Some have tstats in, some do not. Observe its operation. You can hear it "cooking". See if it does that only occasionally after the engine is warm.

You were very lucky then. I used to drive nights between Casper, Wyo. and Rock Springs. Always filled with No. 1 in Rock Springs for the trip back . Went down one night when it was well below zero. Saw a couple of trucks parked along the shoulder froze up. It is about a hundred and twenty miles between Point of Rocks which is about ten miles out of Rock Springs to Rawlins. I started counting and when I pulled into Rawlins I had counted a hundred and seventeen tractors setting on the shoulder, one every mile. I was the only truck still running that night.
