Key Left On

The key accidentally got left on for 2 or 3 days on our Ford 3600 gas tractor. Other than the battery getting run down, wonder what other damage could have possibly been done. Thanks

ood plan! If it goes, fine. If no go, then start investigating. No wondering needed.

Points are probably burned, might need filing.

It all depends on whether the points happened to be closed or open when the key was left on.

Others have hit the major items. One other is, from my experience, you lost about one year of life from that battery. Bummer!

Thanks for all the replies. The battery has been charged up and tomorrow we will turn it over and see what happens. If it doesn't go we will have to take the cap off and deal with the points to see how bad they are burnt.

I burned up a coil that way. Points must have been
closed.

Guess we got lucky this time Pulled the choke out, turned the key and it fired right up and that was after setting for the winter too. Thanks for all the replies.
