Key On Reminder

We are having some problems remembering to turn the key off at the end of the day on our 30 series Deere's. The suggestion to take the key out every night didn't work, so I am thinking of a buzzer?
Has anyone had this problem, and how did you solve it? Batteries are getting expensive.

Don't forget to turn the key off before you attach a battery charger either. I blew up the coil on my B that way. It left a nasty mess, waxy oil all over everything. Had to scrape it off and then wipe it down with a solvent.

Instead of a buzzer, hook up a horn that's loud enough to give you a severe headache. It will only take once or twice and you will never forget to shut the ign off again.

I like the buzzer idea. This is family members who have been farming for many, many years so I'm not trying to teach a lesson.
After spending all day in the field, they are just tired sometimes and forget to make sure they key is off.

I installed a volt meter on my 40 when I converted it to 12 volt. The meter has a light in it so it's on whenever the key is on. If you see the light on you know the ignition is turned on.

For a tractor with an oil light that would work good and would be two fold. Remind you to turn the key off, and be an audio notifier if your oil pressure drops

I had 2x Fortshritt E512 combine. They had a very powerful pressure light switch with a 21w light bulb. You would not forgot to tur' the key, plus there was no key, you had to use a very big cutout between the two batteries. Crudest combines ever. Biggest oil light ever and biggest gear shift lever handle ever.

Light is upper right.
