Is it normal for a 1950 Ford 8n to still turn over even with the key switch off? If you push the ignition plunger the starter still turns the engine over even if key is off.Upper pole of junction block is not energized when key off so no power to coil but starter still turns engine over.
This is a 6 volt tractor with a newer wiring harness installed by my grandfather before my time.I have been cleaning and detailing my way around the engine, I took very detailed pictures before removing the harness and put it back exactly as it was.It may have not been correct from the day I started on it.
I have two yellows on lower junction pole , one yellow to voltage regulator, one to starter solenoid, two ignition switch wires one on each pole, red on upper pole which goes to generator.
