I am not sure what it is called but the plug you pull to kill tractor on 2910 ford broke. Anybody know what this is called and where I can find a new one?

Also i got big tractor stuck in mud, little tractor and truck wont pull it. I normally can use tilt on bucket to get out but its not working for some reason. i did pick front tires up with bucket and put boards on under it but now the big back tires are to low in ground any ideas of what else i can try.....im disabled so limited to what i can do and how long i can be out there to mess with it

Plug you pull to kill the tractor? Is it a diesel? Are you asking about the pull cable with a knob you pull to shut the fuel off in the injection pump? If so, you should be able to get a pull cable that will work at a NAPA or other parts store. This site's store and All States Ag Parts likely sell them.

it is a diesel im not sure what it connects to, i was going to take a picture of both sides earlier but i forgot. on left side you have the key but on right side there are to plug or knobs not sure what to call it....the top one you pull to turn off tractor the one on bottom you pull to turn lights on.
ill try to post pictures tomorrow unless i can find something online to show what im talking about

I believe you will find the knob is a pull cable hooked to the fuel shut off lever on the injection pump. The cable might have broken, the cable may have come unhooked from the lever on the injection pump, the lever might have come unhooked from the injection pump, or something broke or unhooked inside the pump. Look at the injection pump you should see the throttle rod hooked to on lever on the pump and this cable hooked to the other lever on the pump.

Brad, I was sliding through this forum and I saw your post. Sounds like the fuel shut off lever is pretty much solved. Just wanted to suggest caution getting big tractor out of mud. I know of several people who have killed themselves in similar situations, one on a ford 8N and the other on a David Brown 990. If the rear wheels wont turn because they are stuck, the other possibility ( given enough power applied, a light front end and that the tractor doesn't stall out) is that the tractor flips backwards around the rear axle ending up on the driver. The tractor doesn't care which happens. Having the front of the tractor up on boards gives it a head start. Backing out is probably a better idea and finding someone with a really big tractor and a really big chain is probably the best idea. Good luck

yes i went looked at tractor that is what it is just a cable that connects to injection pump...i think i knew that but forgot lol i had to look at it. the part that you pull on broke but i found some im fixing to order. I kept searching for "kill switch" lol i didnt know what else to call it but its a fuel shut off cable. Thanks for letting me know that or id still be guessing, i pulled it on my other tractor to confirm that is all it was.... thanks again

now i got to figure out how to get my big tractor out of mud my little tractor wont pull it, i used bucket to raise front tires and put boards under those but the back tires are to deep in ground

thanks again
