King Kutter Bush Hogger

Hi all I need some help with one small issue. My Hogger was built in 1991 and I'm trying to find information and what size wrench I need to remove the blades. I have googled and have gone to King Kutter for information and I have yet to find my answer. Please let me know if you can guide me on this.

NOT to try to stir things up, here, and suggest too much radical "out of the box" thinking, but you might (just for a little while) try living "on the edge" and measure the nuts and/boltheads.

If you happen to have an adjustable wrench handy, you can adjust it to fit, then measure the jaw opening to determine what size you will need in a more HD wrench, making it even easier.

It seems to me it's 1 11/16, but you will have to try the sockets until one fits. Down through the hole in the deck, long cheater pipe! We have our Bush Hog tore apart right now.

You will need a big socket and an extension to reach down through the hole. I used my 3/4 set an put a pipe on the handle, they were tight.

Thank you all for your input. The nut is off set close to the gear box. Trying to reach it with a socket is out. I'll need to reach it with a wrench that has the old 45 degree bend in it. I will run that tape again and I'll think out of the box to get the correct size. My Hogger is great however the person that sold it to me didn't hand off any of the manuals.

That's what I used on our Bush Hog last Friday and I think the King Kutter we had was the same size. The bolts probably came from the same factory in china!
