Kinze KM3000 Question

I have a Kinze KM3000 monitor and I have been trying to get my wheel speed sensor working with.

If I unplug the 4-pin radar plug and try to calibrate without any signal it will still display cal. numbers. Is this correct operation or should it remain 0 when nothing is plugged in? The operators manual gives instructions on how to set up but not much for troubleshooting operation.

I am not. I was trying to with the wheel speed signal and discovered it was throwing random numbers.
