Kobalt air tools

Just curious to see what you guys think of Kobalt air tools and compressors. I have been stalking around at Lowe"s for almost two years deciding if I should buy the Kobalt compressor and if I did whether the Kobalt air tools were any good. I have been told that IR is a good tool brand but I just don"t have that kind of cash. I have also been told that CH is not that great of a brand.

Look a little flimsy to me. Motors are all 56 frame and 3500 rpm, pumps - light and value engineered. Not for serious duty work, made by the lowest bidder. Some of the CH flagship pumps seem much better.

56 frame motors are less expensive, (cheap)
motors provided on "lowest bidder" stuff.
My QUINCEY compressor has a 182 frame 220 volt 3
Horse moter, a built in lube oil pump,(not Spash)
and oil pressure gauge. I've used it VERY HARD for
over 30 years. In that same time my neighbor is
on his 3rd Crapsman. QUALITY PAYS !!

I bought a Kobalt upright compressor w/ tools a couple of years back. When I took it home and filled it, there was a steady air leak somewhere internally on the pump/motor. I returned and tested one at the store, this one also leaked. They brought out a third one to try, this one the motor was bad, running labored and speeding up and slowing down. After 3 tries I just got my money back. I bought a similar sized/priced Craftsman with no problems.
