What is everyone's opinion on Kobelco equipment. In particular their excavators. Any that are lemons or were the pre 2000 models just as good as the new ones? How would you rank them to Cat,Deere and Komatsu?

My buddy's dad bought one that was a late 80's model. He can't even get oil filters for it. It runs good just have problems getting parts.
